Join our Steel Drum Ensemble class and immerse yourself in the vibrant sounds of the Caribbean! Whether you're a beginner or have some musical experience, this class will teach you the basics of playing the steel drums, including rhythm, melody, and harmony. You'll learn various styles, from calypso to reggae, and perform as part of an ensemble. Experience the joy of making music in a fun, collaborative environment and discover the unique, resonant tones of the steel drum. No prior experience required—just bring your enthusiasm and love for music! Instruments provided. This course is taught by Ted Canning who has over 30 years teaching steel drums. He currently leads the RIT Steel Drum ensemble, Geneseo Community Steel Band Ensemble and performs in Pan Loco, a steel pan group. Class will be held Monday April 14th, 21st, and 28th an& Monday May 5th, 12th, 19th from 6p-7:30p.
